MyMovies.Net Update
Just
like Enrique Iglesias says; "you can run, you can hide but you can't escape my
love" or this Blog apparently. Yes, I'm back to give you the skinny on all
things movie-related from Bredan Fraser's inflated sense of self to some hot
young thing making things happen in the pockets of teen boys everywhere. Yep,
you guessed it! This week we'll be taking a magical mystery tour through "The
Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" as well as Urban Dance Hit (TM) "Make it
Happen".
So, who here among us wanted another "Mummy" film? Hands
up please. Yes...I thought not. Well, like it or not (and let's err on the side
of 'not' for argument's sake) Bredan Fraser and Jet Li have joined forces to
bring you "The
Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". A waste of everyone's time
really but there you have it in all its undead, mummified glory. But don't let
me put you off! At least wait until you've seen this
behind the scenes feature replete with a dumbstruck Fraser. And then
you can be put off!
If
that wasn't enough to put you off films forever then this next effort might just
do the trick! From the guy that brought you "Step Up" (eek) comes another
excersise in horribleness entitled "Make
it Happen" featuring that fresh-faced "Death Proof" star Mary
Elizabeth Winstead. This is a by-the-numbers slice of awfulness pockmarked only
by the odd decent dance routine or two. Avoid like a plague of zombies. No
really. What are you still doing here? Run for the hills I say!! OK, if that's
how you want to play it -
take this! Just a taste of the evil this film possesses!
Shock
and indeed horror. There's actually quite a strong film out this week in the
guise of "Death
Defying Acts". This period thriller piece stars Guy Pearce as the
infamous Harry Houdini who, when staying in 1920's London, becomes entangled
with Catherine Zeta-Jones' psychic. You may have seen it all before but this one
is still worth a look if only because the rest of this week's releases are so
toxic!
Well that's your lot for another week. But to end with a wizardry flourish
befitting of the Great Houdini himself I'll sign off with this brand new teaser
for "Harry
Potter and The Half-Blood Prince".
