MyMovies.Net Update
Watch the "Adulthood" TrailerHi there and welcome once more to the filmic regurgitation that is this Blog. After all the 'excitement' (please read pant-wetting disappointment) of last week - what with "The Incredible Hulk" smashing up the UK Box Office Chart and "The Happening" not really 'happening' for M. Night Shyamalan - it's quite refreshing to see a week populated with low-key Brit efforts.

First up its "Adulthood" with Noel Clarke, yes him out of "Dr. Who", taking up writing/directing/starring duties on this follow up to 2006's "Kidulthood". This hoodie-basher (quite literally in some cases) takes a hard-edged look into the 'yoof' of this crime addled country of ours. Not a bundle of joy then this but a competent enough drama from a promising young filmmaker. And we caught up with star Scarlet Alice Johnson to discuss all manner of growing pains.

Watch "The Escapist" TrailerIf you are one of these strange types who has been hankering for a decent Brit Prison Break drama (all two of you I imagine) then your wait is over! First time director Rupert Wyatt, having harvested the power of Grey Skull to coerce heavy-hitters like Brian Cox and Damien Lewis to join his acting managerie, delivers an impressive thriller - like a "Shawshank Redemption" via "Oz" in "The Escapist". Threatening to break out of obscurity then and really make an impact with us cinema-goers is the likes of Dominic Cooper and Steven Mackintosh who we bumped into this week to discuss doing hard time on this one.

Watch "Hancock" TrailerIn a bout of derring-do and balls-out bravado I thought I would mix things up a little this week by including a little Red Carpet Report. I say 'Report', it's more a licensed stalk-a-thon as when the big stars rock up to Leicester Square I get to heckle them and generally make them feel uncomfortable with my unsightly visage. And this week was the turn of Will Smith, who bopped up to the Square to promote his latest superhero cynic offering, "Hancock"

And last, but by no means least, let's stand in awe at a blast from the past! Vin Diesel (remember him?), the guy whose career was almost ruined by the misadventure that was "The Pacifier", is back and taking names in "Babylon A.D.". Lo and behold this one actually looks half decent!

MyMovies.Net Update
Watch "The Incredible Hulk" TrailerHi there and welcome once again to the MyMovies Blog - a veritable, disease-ridden comet orbiting a dead world in this here blogosphere. At any moment one feels that the whole thing could simply come crashing down courtesy of my homebrew drivel. Such a sensation would be completely alien to the comic behemoth that is Marvel though (now that's a tenuous link!!!!!). The comic gods over at Marvel are at it again this week as they unleash the not-so-jolly green giant "The Incredible Hulk" on to an unsuspecting public. Well, that's a lie really as we all know what to expect from this monster mash up as scientist Bruce Banner's dangerous Id breaks loose and tears into anything and everything around him.

With Ed Norton stepping into Banner's shoes for this one there needed to be a similarly capable thesp in the bad guy chair. Step forward one Tim Roth who here chews up the scenery (quite literally at one point) with a sadistic glee. And if you'd be so kind as to regard the panel to the left here you'll discover a rather nifty little feature starring the Rothster as he takes us on a tour of his Abominable character, Emil Blonsky. No really, check it out if only to see a suped-up Roth go toe-to-toe with the big green lug.

Watch "The Happening" TrailerOf course "The Incredible Hulk" hasn't got it all his own way this week - there's also the pretty exceptional Markey Mark and the Funky Bunch to contend with!!! That's not strictly true as the Funky Bunch are on deep cover missions in hostile territories but there's always Mark Wahlberg to hold the fort. And he's doing just in M. Night 'Here's The Twist' Shyamalan's latest venture into the supernatural in "The Happening".Watch the "Eagle Eye" trailer Watch the "Madagascar: Back 2 Africa" trailerAnd here's Markey Mark now giving us an inside look into "The Happening" with a little making of feature. Gawd bless him.

It's about now that we end things on a relative high by unveiling the latest and greatest trailers to hit the interweb. So staying true to form here's a brace of brand spanking new promos in the cuddly form of "Madagascar: Back 2 Africa" and the paranoid antics of "Eagle Eye". Enjoy.

MyMovies.Net Update
Watch "Gone, Baby, Gone" TrailerHi there and welcome back to the MyMovies Update! What? What do you mean this is your first time galivanting about these here web pages?! For shame! Actually, you've probably been far too busy enjoying life than to worry about the trivialities yonder page?! Well, I'm here to put a stop to all that and subject you to another week of Movie features, trailers and clips straight from the bosom of the filmic world.

And first up in our grill this week in none other than Casey Affleck. Not content with taking the acting plaudits on "The Assassination of Jesse James...", Affleck Jr. has swept the proverbial rug from right underneath director Ben Affleck's feet here in "Gone, Baby, Gone". Yes the Brothers Affleck team up here to adapt the snot out of Dennis Lehane's novel...and you know what? They do a mighty fine job of it too! And despite sounding like death dragged through a hedge backwords, Casey soldiered on to tell us all about this taut thriller.

Watch the "Superhero Movie" Trailer"Gone, Baby, Gone" is just about the only decent film out there this week I'm afraid but If you fancy leaving your brain at the door then there's always "Superhero Movie". Yes, there's always a spoof it would seem. The guys who brought you such execrable delights like "Scary Movie" and "Epic Movie" are back and this time they're taking aim at the slew of comic book adaptations currently doing the rounds (shock, and indeed, horror). And if, and I do mean 'if', you were wondering what's in store for you then here's a clip from the film. It feature Pamela Anderson. So there.

Watch a "The Mist" trailerAfter such detritus it might be best that we end on something of a high note. And here's said 'high'. Next month we can look forward to the long overdue release of Stephen King's "The Mist". The film has already done the rounds in the States and finally a distrib has ponied up and bought the rights this side of the pond. This uber dark retelling of King's most cherished short story should go down a (ahem) storm here. But don't take my word for it! Here's the trailer. Until next week my friends.
